A Weekend of “Omaha!”, “L.O.B.”, & Upsets.

Wow!! Tons of fighting this weekend!  My top 3 favorite matchups were:

  • Peyton Manning (Broncos) vs Tom Brady, ( Patriots)
  • Richard Sherman, (Seahawks) vs Michael Crabtree, (49ers), and
  • Ana Laura Esteche* vs Monica Silvina Acosta

*Esteche earned the upset of the year (so far) by dethroning once-undefeated Acosta of her 140-lb WBA world title.  Esteche moves up in weight from 135-lb and wins a title after four attempts.

Esteche vs Acosta was the 2nd televised women’s world title boxing fight of 2014.

Excited to see “OMAHA!” vs “L.O.B.!” in the Superbowl…Tough to choose which team to root for, but congratulations to all competitors!

“This is a Man’s World…”

Being a woman in this era, the era of breakthroughs; where you have the “Robin Roberts“, the “Danica Patricks”, the “Serena Williams“, etc.;  I’m talking about women who STAND OUT.  Women who tear down the “invisible” barriers society separates men and women in.  It’s about getting respect and in boxing, it’s no different.
